Richmond Shakespeare Festival presents the Kentucky Shakespeare touring production of The Tempest, by William Shakespeare, at Jack Elstro Plaza (47 N 6th St, Richmond, IN 47374) on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 6:30 PM. Food trucks at 5:30. Free Admission. Please bring a chair or blanket.
Story: Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan, uses magic to create a storm (tempest) and shipwreck his traitorous enemies on his island. Through his spirit-servant Ariel, Prospero manipulates the survivors, leading to themes of betrayal, romance, and ultimately forgiveness and mercy.

Play starts at 6:30pm. 75 minutes, with no intermission.
Rain location: The play will be presented rain or shine. If rain seems likely, we will present the play indoors in the Bard Room at the Morrisson-Reeves Public Library, 80 N 6th St, Richmond, IN 47374 (across 6th Street from Jack Elstro Plaza).
Parking: No problem! There is a parking lot with handicap spaces adjacent to the performance area in Jack Elstro Plaza. Enter the lot from N 6th St or N 7th St.
